Scrapbook & Cards Today - SWAGGER

Hey there!  Long time no see.  It's been super busy around here, but I wanted to take a moment to share one of my most recent favorite layouts.  I created this layout for the spring issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine.  The spring issue is full of so many amazing projects - if you haven't seen it yet hurry on over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today website and download it for FREE (can't beat that price now can you?)

I created this layout about my youngest son Brandon for an article on scrap-tastrophies!  Yep we've all had them - a sticker or paper tear, mist mishap, spelling blunder.  You name it and I've "been there done that" LOL!  For this layout I wanted to show how you can take a tragedy such as a paper tear and turn it into an opportunity to step up the design quotient on your layout and create a fun embellishment to hide your mistake.  Here's a picture of my paper tear right smack dab in the middle of the paper I was using for my title ...

Now if I had another piece of green paper I could have started over, but I didn't want to risk having to pull off the remaining black letter stickers from my title.  So with a  little bit of die cutting and my trusty circle punch I created a cute top hat and mustache embellishment to house the letter "s" and take my title up a notch.  I love that it adds some personality to this layout all about my youngest and HIS "swagger-iffic" personality.

You can see that I used the name of the Fancy Pants collection featured on this layout as inspiration for my title.  It was the perfect fit for these photos of my youngest strutting his stuff at our family photo shoot last fall.  Here's a few more detail images ...

Be sure to head on over to the Scrapbook & Cards Today website to download the spring issue and see how a few other SCT designers tackled their scrap-tastrophies.   Thanks so much for stopping by!
