Hip Hop Thursday!

Happy Hip Hop Everyone! Be sure to start over at the Unity blog with Angela and then just follow along from there.

Today's Hip Hop theme is ... Christmas! That's right! It's never to early to get started thinking about the holidays. I used the brand new stamp set Bright and Merry on my layout below. This kit has lots of fun images in it that are perfect for both card making and scrapbooking!

I used the snowflake image and some Versamark ink to create my own patterned paper on the left side of my layout and then I replaced the "o" in my title with the sweet little Christmas tree image embossed in gold.

Now head on over to see the wonderful *** JEN ***

Family - a photo and a layout ...

My mom snapped this photo the other day before we left for Darian's graduation ceremony. I know it's not the "perfect" family photo because Darian (the little stinker) refused to sit still and look at the camera, but honestly I absolutely love it! It shows US - who we are every day. Silly and happy and together. Us.

And here's a layout I created with this photo using some yummy papers from Black River Designs about our family.

These papers are from the Kelly's Garden collection and I just love how they all work so well together so I created a bit of a patchwork background with them and laid my photo and journaling center stage right in the middle of my layout.

I added some fun details with chipboard letters and shapes, word stamps from Unity Stamp Company, and felt flowers and pearls from Zva Creative.

Just wanted to say ...

... Happy Father's Day to my sweet hubby! Thank you for being the world's best daddy to our two boys. I love you more than you know!

And just to throw in something a little crafty here's a little card I made with some fun Black River Designs papers - perfect for those masculine cards. :)

Father's Day Project

Hi Everyone! Just wanted to share a fun Father's Day project I created using the Debonair line from GCD Studios. I purchased an unfinished wooden photo cube from Michael's and, using goodies I already had in my stash, I was able to create this altered project for my sweet hubby for Father's Day.

Visit the GCD Studios blog where I have shared step by step instructions and photos on how to create this photo cube on your own. :)

Black River Designs ...

I was lucky enough to be asked to join the first ever design team for Black River Designs a Canadian based scrapbook company. I fell in love with the bright colors and bold patterns of these papers immediately and was so excited to receive a big box of BRD goodies the other day. I got to work yesterday and this is one of the projects I came up with. LOVE these papers so much! Pure heaven!

I took these fun pictures of Brandon with his "shark shooter" over Memorial Day weekend while we were swimming at my mom's house. He's so funny because as much as he didn't want to go in the water (he's kinda scared of it!) he was VERY serious about his "shark shooter" and wouldn't put that thing down the entire day! LOL

I totally played with the fun curves in the paper for my titlework since it reminded me of the waves in the ocean. We were given some Core'dinations cardstock in addition to our BRD goodies and I used my Cricut Expression to cut the "shark" in my title. Can you believe I have never owned or touched a piece of Core'dinations before now? And can I just say how COOL this stuff is?!? I sanded the edges of my letters a bit for a roughed up look and love that you can see the lighter blue core underneath. Fun stuff!

I played a bit with the fun design in this patterned paper and punched out some circles, added brads, and adhered with dimensional adhesive for some POP!

I also created a quick and easy Father's Day card with my scraps but I think I'll save that for another post! Hee hee! :)

And the winner is ...

Hip Hop Thursday!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to another amazing week of Hip Hop with Unity Stamp Company. As always, be sure to start your blog hop over on the Unity blog with Angela and then just follow along from there.

This week I have a layout for you that I created using an image from the June Kit of the Month. Love this kit so much! If you haven't checked out the kit of the month from Unity yet be sure to do so especially since if you sign up this month you get an amazing stamp set called "Bevvy of Butterflies" with your purchase. Click the link for the June Kit of the Month above to check it out - it's gorgeous!

I snapped this photo of this happy little bee hard at work in the wildflower garden I have in my backyard. Isn't he cute? I kept this layout really simple and worked with just three colors - lavender, green, and white - to keep the focus on my photo.

I used this great quote image from the June Kit of the Month stamped in olive green chalk ink along with some fun felt flowers and pearls from Zva Creative for my embellishments.

And since this week is about the fathers in our lives I also created this fun card for my hubby who is the ultimate grill master! Move over Bobby Flay you've got nothin' on my hubby! LOL

I used an image from the brand spankin' new set Retro BBQ along with some Cosmo Cricket papers from their Lil Man collection and some fun orange Stickles for the flames from the grill.

And since I am the last stop on your Hip Hop journey you now have a chance to win the adorable Little Me set pictured below. Just leave me a comment for a chance to be entered in this random drawing. I'll announce the winner sometime after 9pm EST tonight in the Unity forum on SCS!

Got Sketch 86

Just wanted to share a card I created as a contributor for the new sketch up at the Got Sketch? blog this week. More Cosmo Cricket Lil Man on this one. :)

I've been in total card mode lately but never fear - come back tomorrow and I'll have a Unity layout to share my dear! Didya notice that rhymed? LOL (I'm a little punchy can ya tell?)

CPS 119

Just a quick and easy card I put together using CPS 119 over at the Card Positioning Systems blog. Used the Lil Man line from Cosmo Cricket for this one - LOVE this line!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

CPS 118

So I'm in card mode right now can you tell? LOL This card is based on CPS 118 over at the Card Positioning Systems blog. Lots of fun sketches on that website and they have a great design team to boot. Pure eye candy!

I used some more Zva Creative goodies on this one and lots of Making Memories stuff as well. :)

2 Sketches 4 You Ultimate Card Showdown!

I love visiting the 2 Sketches 4 You blog for beautiful card sketches and lots of inspiration from their amazing design team. They are currently running a contest to celebrate their 1 year anniversary called the Ultimate Card Showdown and I decided to throw my hat in the ring. The prizes are fabulous but more than anything the sketch is gorgeous and I thought it would be a lot of fun to work with.

So here's my entry:

I was really excited to use these fun crystal swirls from Zva Creative on a card. They had sent me a little goodie box the other day and these swirls were the first thing that caught my eye and were begging to be used. Love them! And the papers are courtesy of my good friend Laura - thanks girl!

Hip Hop Thursday!

Hi Everyone! Welcome to another round of Hip Hop Thursday with Unity Stamp Company. Be sure to start your journey with Angela over on the Unity blog and then just follow along from there.

Today is the first Hip Hop of June which means it's all about the June Kit of the Month. This month's kit is adorable and if you haven't signed up for Unity's Kit of the Month now is the perfect time to join since Unity is running a great special. Head on over to the Unity website to check it out!

For my layout today I used two images from the June Kit of the Month (quote and cherries) but also a cute little sentiment from Mix Up of Cuteness (UK-310A) - these two kits definitely work well together.

I stamped the quote image on the red cardstock tag with white craft ink and embossed with white embossing powder as well to make it really pop.

For the adorable cherries I colored them with Copics and then used some Glossy Accents to give a little dimension and sheen - so fun!

Now head on over and visit *** Linsey ***

Got Sketch 85

Just wanted to share this layout I did as a contributor for the new sketch up at the Got Sketch? blog this week. Another really fun sketch to work with. All the pieces just fell into place here and I was done in no time - don't ya just love when that happens? Used the fun Studio Calico Playground kit as well.
