Happy GO Lucky

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.  Ours was spent enjoying the sunshine, swimming, and cleaning out the garage.  Okay so the last part wasn't that enjoyable but it had to be done!  And I now have a clean garage that I CAN enjoy!  LOL!

I'm trying to work my way through some projects that I've had published recently that I haven't shared here on my blog or in my galleries before.  Today I wanted to share a layout I created for the Spring 2011 issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine.  If you haven't checked out this magazine before you NEED to!  It's such a delightful publication and the best part is that you can download it free online.  Yep, that's right - FREE!

I created this layout for the Page Maps article based on a sketch by the amazing Becky Fleck.  I was asked to take the original sketch and rotate it one quarter turn counter clockwise and this layout is the result.  I used the adorable Happy Go Lucky collection by Pebbles Inc.  Yes I might be a bit biased, but I do believe that this collection is one of the cutest out there this spring.  The colors are just so ... well ... happy!  And the embellishments are adorable!  I especially love the layered chipboard flowers, and those toothpick flags had me at hello!

And here are just a few more detail images of the layout that you won't see in the magazine article ...

That's all for me today.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Rocket Age ABC Wall Art

Hi everyone!  Today I have my very last project as Guest Designer on the October Afternoon blog to share with you and this one just might be my favorite.

I often look to home decor websites for inspiration when creating.  Two of my favorite websites to visit are Pottery Barn Kids and The Land Of Nod - both provide lots and lots of eye candy!  LOL  My project today was inspired by a piece of children's wall art I found on The Land Of Nod.  I loved it and thought "I can do that!" and why not do it with a Rocket Age theme to boot!  Here's a little peek for you ...

You'll have to head on over to the October Afternoon blog to see the whole project and the inspiration piece.  And while you're there leave a comment - I'd love to hear from you!

Also it looks like the Rocket Age collection is finally in stock at Two Peas In A Bucket.  If you have little boys - or just want to work with a super fun collection - you NEED to head on over there and pick up some before it's all gone!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Baby Gia

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to share a layout with you that appears in the June 2011 issue of Scrapbooks Etc (out on newsstands now!).  I was asked to create a layout for the "Bundle of Joy" article which focuses on celebrating babies with layouts and other projects.  My layout focuses on those tiny details or in this case those teeny tiny toes!

I took this picture of my niece Gia's sweet little piggies when she was just 9 days old.  I loved the idea of putting my brother and sister-in-law's wedding rings on her big toe not only to show perspective in terms of just how tiny her toes are but also to symbolize the love they share for their sweet baby girl.

And here are just a few more detail images of the layout that you won't see in the magazine article ...

Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Squirrel Drama ... and a new October Afternoon project!

Hi everyone!  I had every intention of posting this first thing this morning but things got a wee bit hectic (if you're my friend on Facebook you know all about my squirrels in the attic drama! LOL) and then I headed out to the Scrapbook Expo in Somerset with my mom.  It was an "okay" show - kinda small and not a ton of new product.  But I did get my hands on quite a few of the Ali Edwards Technique Tuesday stamp sets that I've had my eye on so all in all I was a happy girl.

I have another layout up on the October Afternoon blog today as the May Guest Designer.  This layout features my oldest Darian and his brand new smile.  Here's a little peek for you ...

You'll have to head on over to the October Afternoon blog to see the whole layout and while you're there leave a comment - I'd love to hear from you!  Til then wish me luck catching those darn squirrels!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Rocket Age Card Set

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to pop in now that Blogger's finally working (thank.you.very.much) and let you know that I have another project up on the October Afternoon blog as the May Guest Designer.  I played with some more of the "Rocket Age" collection - love, love, love this line!  Here's a little peek for you ...

So hop, run, skip on over to the October Afternoon blog to see the fully monty.  And while you're there leave me a comment - I'd love to hear from you!  Thanks for stopping by!  :)

Happy National Scrapbook Day!

Hey everyone!  I hope your all having a wonderful Mother's Day weekend.  And if that's not exciting enough today is National Scrapbook Day!  I actually think the timing couldn't be more perfect if you think about it ... you can tell your husbands and children that all you want for Mother's Day this year is a little "me" time to get crafty.  And then you can hop around the web and join in on all the online celebrations!  LOL

Over on the Pebbles blog we have been joining forces with our parent company American Crafts all week long.  I created this fun layout of my sweet niece Gia using lots and lots of American Crafts and Pebbles goodies.  I LOVE that these two brands go together so well ... kinda like peanut butter and jelly or peanut butter and chocolate for that matter!  LOL

I used my die cut machine to cut the sun and clouds and then just loaded up on lots and lots of fun embellishments from both companies.  It's always so much fun for me to scrap girly pictures so I just had to include some butterflies, flowers, and of course a wee bit of bling.  Hee!  Oh and the best part?  (okay well maybe not the best part but a very cool part at least!  LOL) I used my vintage typewriter to type my journaling on the little sticker.  LOVE how this typewriter works and I seriously can't wait to use it more often.  YAY!

We are having a fun giveaway over on the Pebbles blog so you'll want to head over there and leave a comment for your chance to win a prize pack filled with both Pebbles and American Crafts goodies.  This is a GOOD one and you don't want to miss it!  Wishing you all a very Happy Mother's Day and a Happy National Scrapbook Day!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

October Afternoon May Guest Designer!

So about a month ago I received a fabulous email inviting me to be the May guest designer for October Afternoon ... and then I squealed like the girl I am!  LOL  Anyone who knows me knows that I am a HUGE October Afternoon fan.  And the fact that I got to play with the "Rocket Age" collection (probably one of my favorite new releases from this past CHA) it was just icing on the proverbially cupcake.

So here's a little peek at the first project I created this month ...

To see the rest of my layout you'll have to head over to the October Afternoon blog.  And while you're there leave a comment - I'd love to hear from you!  Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)

Butterfly Garden Cards

Hey everyone!  Just thought I'd share some cards I created using the Butterfly Garden collection by Pink Paislee.  I actually created these cards for the HSN debut of the Butterfly Garden kit back in March.  It was so much fun because not only was it my first time creating something specifically for television, but it was Pink Paislee's first time on HSN as well.  And I am happy to report that their kit sold out on the show within minutes of airing!  Yay!

I created 4 cards for the occasion.  Most of you who know me know that my usual style is bright colors, bold patterns, and simple designs so to say that working with this collection was a bit outside my comfort zone is an understatement.  But I loved it!  Seriously!  It was so much fun to create these feminine and whimsical cards and with gorgeous products like these I really couldn't go wrong!

I created several other projects for HSN for Pink Paislee that I plan to share here on my blog over the next few weeks.  I also have some other fun projects in the works that I can't wait to share with you as well!  Thanks so much for stopping by!
