Basic Grey - Soleil Collection Part 1

Happy Monday everyone!  Today I wanted to share with you a few projects that I created for Basic Grey for the CHA-S show held last week in Chicago using their brand new Soleil collection.  This collection is perfect for scrapping those summertime memories and was actually created in collaboration with the folks behind Sassafras.  You can definitely see the Sassafras influences in these products, especially in the patterned papers.  I'm not gonna lie - I was just a wee (okay A LOT) bit intimidated when I first pulled out these products.  There's lots and lots of girly colors and patterns, and I had no idea what I was going to do with it all.  Thankfully I have an adorable niece that I LOVE to take pictures of, so little Miss Gia is the star of my two layouts.

My first layout was all about that bright yellow chevron patterned paper which I think might be my favorite from the whole collection.  I created a large sun on my page to house my title and adorned it with some stickers and layered paper flowers.  You probably can't tell from the photo but all of those tags on the left side of my layout are all attached by thread.  They come like that and it's such a fun new product that Basic Grey has added to their product line up.

And here's a few detail images ...

For my second layout I created a really simple grid design within the interior of that awesome patterned paper (the coral striped and scalloped edges are part of the pattern).  I printed a few photos from Gia's first birthday photoshoot and added in different patterned papers here and there to complete my grid.  There are tons of really fun retro looking flowers in this collection, and I gathered a bunch in the center of my layout for a really fun and whimsical feel.

Well that's all I've got for today.  Come back tomorrow as I'll be sharing a few more projects I created with the Soleil collection.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  :)
