I thought I'd also share another project I created using some Zva Creative goodies.  I used the February kit from My Scrapbook Nook as well for this layout.  This layout was part of a guest designer gig for Pencil Lines and here is the layout I came up with ...

Lots of Zva Creative pearl borders and individual pearls used here.  They pair so nicely with the Basic Grey Origins collection which just happens to be one of my favorite collections at the moment.

TGIF!

Whew!  Been a rough week in the Ghahary household.  We've had a nasty stomach bug making the rounds since the weekend but it seems as though *knock on wood* we are finally finished with it.  Just in time to get dumped on with nearly a foot of snow tomorrow (or so they're predicting) - oh the joys of winter!  LOL

The layout I want to share with you today is one that I created using the February kit from My Scrapbook Nook that features the fabulous Origins collection from Basic Grey.  LOVE LOVE LOVE this line!  I know I've said it before but I'm gonna say it again!  Seriously.  Love.  Okay enough about that!  ;)

 

I snapped this picture of Darian just a few days ago.  He was sent home from school as a result of above noted stomach bug and was just so worn out that he fell asleep on my bed.  He just looked so peaceful and I couldn't help but take a picture.  I know I'm not the only mama out there that loves watching her babies sleep, right?

I did lots of layering again with the "pieces" and "elements" stickers as well as used both the Micro Mono and Mini Mono stickers for my title work as you can see above.  And below you can see I used one of the "pieces" to note Darian's name and the date and tied it all up with some baker's twine and added a gorgeous little Maya road stick pin for good measure.

I'm hoping to get a lot done this weekend while stuck inside from all of the snow.  Some of it won't be fun - bills, taxes, laundry, etc - but I'm hoping to get lots of scrappy time in as well so I'll have more new projects to share with you soon.  Until then, stay warm and stay healthy!  :)

A layout to share ...

Hey everyone!  Feels so good to finally have a layout to share.  One that I actually just created and don't have to "hold on" to for some other reason kwim?  I had the gorgeous February kit from My Scrapbook Nook waiting for me when I returned home from CHA on Wednesday.  This kit features the Origins Collection from Basic Grey and can I just say that I am in LOVE?!?  Seriously I think this is one of my most favorite collections to date.  I love the color combo of yellow, green, brown and black all mixed together with delightful florals and gorgeous graph papers.  YUM!

For my layout I pulled out an older photo of my sweet little Darian.  He's only 9 months old in this picture - check out those chubby cheeks!

I love all of the new embellishments Basic Grey offers with each of their collections especially the "pieces" and the "micro mono" and "mini mono" stickers.  Talk about heaven on earth!  Here I used one of the pieces along with some of the "element: stickers and a pretty little Maya Road stick pin.

 

I LOVE to layer the element stickers.  There are tons on each sheet and you can create endless new shapes and designs by just using a few little pop dots (my fav product ever!) and mixing and matching stickers together as I've done here.

 

Since we're talking about Basic Grey I want to share a pic of me and Miss Basic Grey herself, Kelly Goree.  Love this girl!  We had the best time at CHA together and I can't wait til I can see her again. Please excuse the graininess of the photo - my camera did not play nice with me on this trip!  LOL

Altered Advent Calendar

Happy Saturday!  I wanted to share some photos of an altered advent calendar I've been working on this past week.  I used the December main kit from My Scrapbook Nook as well as lots of add-ons (including the calendar) to create this and I have to say I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

I used a crackle paint technique on the actual calendar and then just got to work assembling, covering, and embellishing all of those tiny drawers.  I painted the interior of each one (either red or green) and used some clear decoupage medium by Martha Stewart (a very happy new find) to adhere my strips of paper.

Instead of putting photos in the center of the calendar I decided to just create this cute little sign and use some more fun embellishments.  The only thing left to do is go shopping and fill up all of the little drawers.  Darian has already given me lots of suggestions - hee hee! November Nook Cards ...

Just wanted to share some cards that I created with the November Kit from My Scrapbook Nook. I have had a lot of fun playing with this kit and these beautiful Lily Bee papers. I wanted to add some cards to my stash and play with some pretty Prima flowers and swirls while I was at it.




You can see my new Martha Stewart "deep edge" border punch on the first card. I just purchased this punch and couldn't wait to use it. I love how deep it cuts the border - lots of fun! Most everything you see here is included in the main kit at My Scrapbook Nook or as an add-on (except the Maya Road kraft label). Thanks for stopping by!

1979 ...

I wanted to share another layout I created with the November kit from My Scrapbook Nook. I decided to scrap an older photo for this one ... a MUCH older photo! LOL This is my older sister and I way back in 1979. I'm about 4 years old here. Can you guess which one is me? And check out those dresses and that couch! Oh baby!


I love the rub-ons that come with this kit especially this "the story..." one. Seemed like the perfect opportunity to do some hidden journaling. I created a tag pocket using my Cricut Expression and the Tags, bags, boxes and more cartridge and slipped a journaling tag inside.

November My Scrapbook Nook Kit and GCD Studios Sketch Contest

The November kit from My Scrapbook Nook features the Audrey Collection from Lily Bee. Truth be told this is actually the first time I have ever used Lily Bee products. The papers are really pretty, the colors and patterns are rich, and the rub-ons are just fabulous!

I created this layout as part of a class at My Scrapbook Nook (a monthly feature in the forum). You can see all of the step by step photos and instructions here if you'd like to play along.

World Card Making Day!

Okay so I know I am a day late with this post but we were out for most of the day yesterday and I just didn't get a chance to get this up on my blog. But as they say better late than never, right?

I wanted to share with you a few cards I created using the October kit from My Scrapbook Nook. This kit features all sorts of vintage inspired papers from Graphic 45 so I had to call on my inner domestic goddess for these. I really like how they turned out.




Everything you see here is available from My Scrapbook Nook either in the main kit or as an add-on except for the Jenni Bowlin tiny alphas (those are from my stash!). I still have lots more kit left and another project in the works that I hope to finish soon. Thanks for stopping by!

apple picking

The October kit from My Scrapbook Nook arrived on my doorstep yesterday and I couldn't wait to get right to work although I must admit I was intimidated. The kit features Graphic 45 Domestic Goddess which is very vintage inspired with lots of sweet prints and fun retro images. Also lots of Prima flowers, pretty lace ribbons, dyed to match buttons in the kit as well. Not things I typically use (well except the buttons) so I wasn't quite sure how this kit and I would get along. LOL

The colors were perfect for some apple picking pictures I took just last week though so I put my fears aside and started playing with paper and here's what I came up with ...


I've still got tons more kit to play with so stay tuned for some more goodies in the next few days.

fall frolic

Hi everyone! I have another layout to share with you today that I created with the September kit from My Scrapbook Nook. I love all things fall so scrapping some photos of the boys from last fall with these gorgeous Amber Road papers was just a little slice of heaven for me. I cannot wait for the weather to get a little cooler and the leaves to start changing. Ahhh! :)

FALL banner

Hey all! Just wanted to share a project I created with the September kit from My Scrapbook Nook. This kit is filled to the brim with goodies from Pink Paislee's new Amber Road Collection and I am just in heaven. LOVE LOVE LOVE this line!

The kit comes with a chipboard album from Maya Road but instead of using it to make a mini album I decided to make a fall banner instead. I simply used my crop-a-dile to punch holes in the corners where there weren't any and then got to work. This project actually came together really quickly - I completed the whole thing last night after the boys were in bed and the longest part was waiting for the paint and glitter glue to dry. LOL!


And here are some individual images of each of the letters ...

A vacation layout!

Can you believe that I took nearly 700 photos during our Ocean City vacation this year. Yep I did! I think the actual number was 687 or something like that. Granted I'm a little trigger happy when it comes to my camera and I can probably just trash about 500 of those photos as being repeats, blurry, off-center, and so on. But still - that's nearly 200 photos left with lots and lots of memories to scrap. I better get busy, huh? LOL

This layout only has 5 photos on it but I think it pretty much sums up how we spent our vacation - on the beach, playing in the water and digging in the sand, together as a family, making great memories.


Of course I used some more goodies from the August My Scrapbook Nook kit for this layout. Seriously I've made 3 layouts with this kit and still have PLENTY of stuff left. Just BE ...

I wanted to share another layout I created with the August kit from My Scrapbook Nook. This layout is about my need to just BE. I'm always looking ahead to the next thing and sometimes I forget to sit back and enjoy the moment so I created this layout as a little reminder to myself. :)
